Black Hills Corporation’s Employee Newsletter Win National Award

June 27, 2007 Rapid City, SD — Black Hills Corporation’s employee newsletter, eConnection, took first place in the Employee Communications category of Utility Communicators International Better Communications Contest. Nicole Schrubb, Black Hills Corporation Communications Specialist and Editor of eConnection, accepted the award recently at UCI’s annual conference in Denver.

UCI is the communications and marketing organization for the utility industry, and its members are from electric, gas, and water utilities throughout the United States, Canada and Great Britain. Black Hills’ award category included all utilities with fewer than 750,000 customers.

“We’re very proud of Nicole for initiating and developing the eConnection project,” said Barbara Zar, Manager of Governmental and Public Affairs for Black Hills Corporation. “We launched the electronic newsletter in January, and have had an excellent response. We’re also sharing it with our future colleagues through the Aquila acquisition so that they can learn about our company during the transition. The eConnection is one of many ways we’re working to keep our current and future employees informed.”
